This comprehensive range of cyanoacrylates contains Ethyl, Methyl and Butyl based products, which essentially bond a huge array of different substrates.
Although we don`t manufacture the bases ourselves (few people really do), we do blend and modifiy the different bases to attain the best possible performance from our products.
The base monomers we use are of European origin and endure a rigorous quality approval system before they are accepted into our range.
What is a Cyanoacrylate?
A cyanoacrylate is a single part adhesive which, when pressed between two surfaces, will react and form a rigid thermoplastic, thus bonding the two materials together. Cyanoacrylates will adhere to a huge range of different substrates and are available in many different thicknesses, ranging from a thin liquid, up to a thick paste or gel.
"How do they work?
Cyanoacrylate adhesives are normally made from a base ester or chemical compound, which in its pure state will react and polymerize when in contact with water or moisture. As there is moisture and water in the air we need to control this reaction by making the ester only react when we want it to. We do this by adding a weak acid which stabilizes and prevents polymerization. However, when the adhesive comes into contact with a surface, any moisture or water present on the surface will neutralize the acidic stabilizer. Once the stabilizer is neutralized the cyanoacrylate ester is free to polymerize and curing begins.
